The new year has started, so where and how do I begin?

With the beginning of the new year, new plans and ideas begin, and the world of construction is no stranger to this habit, as the owners notice that they start searching for the best design, the strongest engineer, and the cheapest price. However, for every new person who experiences this for the first time, there are many questions and decisions that must be made correctly.

Start by prioritizing

Start with the design, review hundreds of designs, ask your friends and acquaintances to share their designs with you, visit twenty consultancy offices, and other ideas or advice that will lead you to a beautiful world of confusion, perplexity, changing decisions, and delay.

Here I advise you to be patient and take a minute of silence, then bring a paper and a pen (or use your phone) and start writing the following:

First - your basic needs: you can never live without them.

Example: kitchen, family hall, sufficient number of bedrooms for the main family.

Second - your secondary needs: you need them and they are important, but you can live without them, albeit reluctantly

Example: men's sitting room, ladies' sitting room, guest bedrooms, office, swimming pool, and others.

Third - your desires: all that you want to have if the budget is comfortably available.

Example: gym, cinema, closed garage, a suite for the son when he gets married in the future, and others.

Postpone all the above examples differ from one person to another, as the sports hall may be a basic element for one person while a less important element for another, so review your current lifestyle and do not assume that this pattern will change drastically when building your house, and based on that try as much as possible to be realistic and familiar with the health of your needs and requests.

Study the list and start setting the budget

Either seek the help of experienced people or search extensively for prices, but the important thing is to determine your financial ability and compare it with your above requests and needs, if the finances do not meet the requests, the solution is simply to increase the financial resources or reduce the requests.

There is another solution that you have heard a lot in the market, and it is with all certainty, courage, and strength to start designing in the hope that the knight with the white horse, disguised as a contractor, will come and implement all the requests without caring or being concerned about the finances, so my only request here is to share with us the name of the knight if found.

Prices are escalating upwards

What you design today based on a specific budget built on the current market price may cost you more than your expectations after six months when you finish the design, if you do not need a longer period, so try as much as possible to keep a reserve amount first, and urgently make the right decisions secondly, as most likely the color of the external villa does not need two months of decision-making.

Identify who is the experienced person who deserves your time and trust in his design expertise and work integrity, and rely on God and ask Him for success.
